Video released Monday shows a Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department officer shooting and injuring a man along Beatties Ford Road in February.
The newly-released video supports a description and timeline of events originally released by police.
The shooting happened on Feb. 8. A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer was using a "real-time crime camera" to monitor activity outside a business near Lasalle Street. The officer monitoring the camera saw the suspect, Tim Moore, pull out a gun and "waving it menacingly," according to testimony in court days later. Officials believed there was drug activity occurring.
Videos released Monday show Moore, 33, pulling the handgun with an extended magazine from his clothing.
Officers were dispatched to the business. The video shows Moore walking away as the first officers arrive. When an officer calls out to Moore, he can be seen running. As he is running away from officers, Moore pulls the gun from his clothing and tosses it toward the back of the business.
It was when Moore pulled the gun from his clothing that one of the CMPD officers, identified as Officer Atwood, perceived a threat and fired his weapon striking Moore in his right arm.
After being shot, Moore falls to the ground, where officers surround him and call for an ambulance.
Moore's handgun is later picked up by another CMPD officer.
In a court proceeding days after the shooting, Moore appeared via video for the bond-setting hearing. At the time, he faced several charges from the shooting including assault on a public official and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
The Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office mentioned during the hearing Moore also had pending charges from September 2022 for communicating threats and assault on a woman.

The judge said the severity of the allegations led him to set Moore's secured bond at $60,000, citing the interest of public safety. Moore has been released from custody as he awaits trial.
Family members said that day that Moore faces mental health challenges and needs treatment. CMPD officials said officers don't have the luxury in all situations to determine a person's mental health needs or capacity.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was brought in to investigate the shooting. The North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys reviewed the case and determined the actions of the officer were justified.
