It happened on Pike Road, which is off McCullough Drive near West W.T. Harris Boulevard and about two miles from UNC Charlotte.
The area has several apartment buildings, though the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has not clarified exactly where the shooting took place.
Both were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Medic. Medic confirmed this information around 1:30 a.m., though it's not clear when the shooting took place.
Further details on the shooting investigation are limited at this time. Just hours prior, a person died after a shooting on Nevin Road in north Charlotte.
