CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was killed in a stabbing at an apartment complex in east Charlotte early Friday morning, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
CMPD responded to a disturbance on Perth Court, just off Milton Road, around 5:30 a.m. Friday. When officers got to the home, they found one person suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A suspect was taken into custody at the scene, according to CMPD. The victim's son told WCNC Charlotte's Richard DeVayne that his mother was stabbed to death by her boyfriend. CMPD has not confirmed that information and has not yet released the victim's name.
This was the first of several violent incidents across Charlotte Friday morning. CMPD also responded to shootings on I-77 in north Charlotte, along North Tryon Street in University City and at the intersection of Church and Liddell streets just outside Uptown. The victims in all three of those shootings suffered life-threatening injuries, according to Medic.
Limited information is available regarding the east Charlotte homicide.
