CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A third person has been arrested in connection with a murder that happened in north Charlotte back in January.
On September 12, 19-year-old Tyler Jordan Hokes was arrested and charged for his involvement in the murder of Carnis Ferdinand Poindexter. Hokes was charged with 1st-degree murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling and 5 counts of ADW with intent to kill.
Detectives have already arrested and charged 19-year-old Furquan Ali Thompson and 20-year-old Ronald Benbow with 1st-degree murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling and 5 counts of ADW with intent to kill in connection with Poindexter's death.
On January 1, CMPD was called to a home on Highlander Court off Gibbon Road for a shooting. When police got to the house, they found Carnis Ferdinand Poindexter shot to death on his front porch.
