CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A peeping tom has neighbors in east Charlotte on edge.
"It makes me feel kind of scared because I thought this was a good neighborhood to live in," Shonda Fluellen said.
Unfortunately, now Fluellen is having second thoughts.
"I have a child so just to think of somebody doing something like that is just shocking," Fluellen said.
Police say over the weekend at the 1700 Place Apartments, a man was looking into a woman's bedroom window and touching himself. It happened just after 7 p.m.
"That's really crazy to me," Fluellen said.
"Can you imagine looking out your window and seeing something like that?" asked NBC Charlotte's Xavier Walton.
"That just scares me, it really does," Fluellen said.
Max Shaw lives a few doors down and shares the same concern.
"I'm going to be honest, man, it makes me feel some type of way for anyone with children," Shaw said.
Shaw says in recent weeks he's heard of more peeping tom cases popping up.
"It's very concerning, to be honest, that it would happen that close to my home and my family," Shaw said.
Fluellen feels uneasy, but living on the second floor is giving her peace of mind.
"I wish I knew how he looked," Fluellen said. "I hope they find him. I really do."
