Shooting at Huntersville Wendy's leaves one seriously injured

Shots were fired in the parking lot near the drive-through, police say.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A shooting occurred at a Wendy's in Huntersville, according to Huntersville Police. One person is seriously injured.

It happened at the Wendy's in the 14000 block of Statesville Road on Tuesday afternoon shortly before 2:30 p.m. Shots were fired in the parking lot near the drive-through, police say.

A 22-year-old man was found in the parking lot with a single gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Medic. Police said he is now in stable condition.

Huntersville Police say they are looking for three black men in a four-door dark black sedan. Officials said the men fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police say they are working to determine what lead up to the shooting.

The identities of those involved have not been released.

The Huntersville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals responsible. The photographs below are of the vehicle police are searching for.
