CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The suspect in a deadly east Charlotte shooting is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
Ramon Funes is accused of killing Khyre' Jamaal Grier on Eastcrest Drive in September.
On Sept. 26, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a reported shooting at a townhome complex on Eastcrest Drive. When officers arrived, they found 25-year-old Grier dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The first suspect, Fabio Funes, was quickly identified as a suspect in the case and arrested. The day after the shooting, CMPD shared a photo of the second suspect, later identified as Ramon Funes.
Police arrested Ramon Funes in Texas on Oct. 2 before extraditing him back to Mecklenburg County.
Fabio Funes was denied bond in his initial court appearance, and had an indictment issued.
Ramon Funes is expected to appear in court at 1:30 p.m.
