MOORESVILLE, N.C. — If you saw a large police presence at Lake Norman High School Friday morning, officials said there was no reason to be alarmed.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office hosted a training exercise for active shooter response Friday. The training took place at the school from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Friday was a teacher workday, so there weren't any students at the school, but school staff were serving as role players as over 40 school resource officers, patrol deputies and members of the sheriff's emergency response team went through a live-action scenario.
