Building catches fire in south Salisbury

The South Salisbury Fire Department responded to the fire around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

SALISBURY, N.C. — Shortly after 10 a.m., firefighters responded to a building fire in south Salisbury.

The fire was reported near the 2500 block of Old Concord Road, which is located near the interchange of Julian Road and Interstate 85.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

Late Monday night, one person died when a bus caught fire in Salisbury on Kulmac Road near Jake Alexander Boulevard. A firefighter was also injured in that fire.  The Salisbury Police Department and Rowan County Fire Marshal's Office investigated the cause of the fire, and determined it was accidental due to an electrical issue.
