CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man wanted for a deadly shooting from September was arrested multiple states away.
Ramon Alexi Santos Funes, 34, was arrested in connection to the deadly shooting of Khyre' Jamaal Grier on Thursday, Sept. 26, according to the Chlarotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Grier, 25, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds at a townhome complex on Eastcrest Drive near Central Avenue.
Famio Hermenio Funes, 49, was arrested shortly after the shooting and charged with murder. Ramon Funes was arrested in Orange County, Texas, which is about 90 miles east of Houston, on Wednesday. He will be extradited back to Mecklenburg County to be formally charged.
CMPD did not directly say if Famio Funes or Ramon Funes are related.
One of Khyre's loved ones shared that he loved his children and "was filled with laughs and joy." He also loved cars and "would talk about cars all day if you let him."
