Body believed to be missing woman from New York found, police say

She was visiting family for the holidays when she disappeared, police said.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The body believed to be a missing 79-year-old from New York City who was visiting her family for the holidays was found in a creek on Monday, police said. 

Charlotte Mecklenburg police said that 79-year-old Nancy Brown was last seen at her family's home along Neuhoff Lane, near West Sugar Creek Road in north Charlotte, around midnight on Dec. 8.
