CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two students from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte were threatened by someone with no affiliation to UNCC, according to the university's NinerNotice emergency alert system.
The emergency alert said that Sunday evening, the individual made verbal threats to two students while brandishing a knife at an on-campus light rail station. The two students were not hurt, and they called campus police, according to UNCC.
The police dispatcher stayed on the phone with the students until officers arrived to the scene and the suspect was taken into custody.
Campus officials have not released the identity of the suspect.
UNCC said in the NinerAlert that there was no ongoing threat to the university community.
