CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Josh Stein announced six members of his transition team as he prepares to go from the attorney general's office to the governor's mansion in January.
Stein, a Democrat, defeated Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson in the race to succeed Gov. Roy Cooper, who is finishing up his second term in office. Stein has served as North Carolina's attorney general since 2017. He'll be replaced by Democrat Jeff Jackson, who defeated U.S. Rep. Dan Bishop on Election Day.
Among the names joining Stein's team will be Seth Dearmin, Stein's current chief of staff at the Department of Justice. Kristi Jones, Cooper's former chief of staff, is also on the list, as is Asheville Mayor Esther Maneheimer.
