NORTH CAROLINA, USA — March 5 marks Super Tuesday, and two North Carolina leaders, Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein and Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson were able to hold their individual leads.
The Associated Press called the gubernatorial primary race for Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson and Democrat AG Josh Stein just after 8 p.m. on Super Tuesday. The polls closed at 7:30 p.m.
The latest polling shows Stein has a substantial lead over his challengers, but former state court justice Mike Morgan isn't backing down.
In the Republican primary, Mark Robinson has the support of former President Donald Trump.
He’s also polling way ahead of Salisbury attorney Bill Graham, who says Robinson would lose if elected as the nominee.
Gov. Roy Cooper isn’t running because he is term-limited under the North Carolina State Constitution. Governors and lieutenant governors are elected every four years, with a two-term limit. The incumbent governor has already endorsed Stein.
