Democratic VP candidate Tim Walz to visit North Carolina Thursday

Walz is scheduled to make stops in Durham and Greenville. He's also expected to speak in Wilmington.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz will visit North Carolina on Thursday as both campaigns focus on North Carolina ahead of Election Day.

Walz is due to make stops in Durham and Greenville. He's also expected to speak in Wilmington, according to WRAL-TV

Walz's visit comes one day before JD Vance, the Republican nominee for vice president, is holding a town hall in Monroe. Walz and Vance have made numerous stops in North Carolina in recent weeks, as have their running mates, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

Former President Barack Obama will be in Charlotte on Friday to campaign for Harris. Trump was most recently in North Carolina on Monday, visiting three cities, including Concord

An NBC News poll conducted Oct. 4-8 showed Harris and Trump each getting 48% support from registered voters in the estate. Another 4% said they are undecided or wouldn't vote for either option.

North Carolina voters are the second-most powerful voters, a new WalletHub study found. Nevada came in No. 1 overall, with the rest of the top five being Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin. South Carolina came in at No. 18, but the "vote power score" for Palmetto State voters is significantly lower than North Carolina.

"If you live in one of these states, you could quite literally have the fate of the election in your hands," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said.
