TULSA, Okla. — A man originally arrested for public intoxication after forcing a flight from Charlotte to Salt Lake City to make an emergency landing has turned himself in to U.S. Marshals, officials said.
James Clayton Chloewinski-Boy turned himself in on Monday in Tulsa, Oklahoma around 2 p.m. for the federal charge of criminal sexual misconduct.
Chloewinski-Boy was accused of being disruptive on the plane on November 5. The flight was diverted to Tulsa because of the incident, detectives said. Chloewinski-Boy was arrested for public intoxication after the plane landed in Tulsa.
Now, he's awaiting a court date in Oklahoma for the federal sex crime he's facing.
Officials said Choloewinski had been in Oklahoma since his court date on the public intoxication charge, which is a state charge, not a federal one
After turning himself in on Monday, he bonded out and is now awaiting a court date in federal court on the most recent charge.
NBC Charlotte previously received a copy of the U.S. District Court criminal complaint filed earlier this month which outlines the charges against Chloewinski-Boy.
The victim previously said the suspect kept touching her, and she told him to stop, pushing him away several times. But he persisted, she said, and eventually forcibly grabbed her between her legs, according to the complaint.
