Famous Toastery to sponsor bowl game on UNC Charlotte campus

The Bahamas Bowl will be played in Charlotte this year due to stadium renovations at its typical location.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — ESPN announced Tuesday that Famous Toastery will sponsor its bowl game that will be played at Jerry Richardson Stadium on the campus of UNC Charlotte in December.

The Famous Toastery Bowl on Dec. 18 will temporarily replace the Bahamas Bowl, which was relocated to Charlotte due to renovations at Thomas A. Robinson Stadium in Nassau. The game will feature teams from the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Conference USA. The game is expected to return to the Bahamas in 2024.

The game is one of 17 bowls that are owned and operated by ESPN Events. This year's bowl game marks the first-ever sports sponsorship for Famous Toastery, according to an ESPN news release. The game's matchup and ticket information will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 3.

"The Famous Toastery Bowl is a perfect showcase for those that are not quite familiar with Famous Toastery and the city of Charlotte," Mike Sebazco, the president of Famous Toastery, said. "We're extremely proud to be involved with the game and the opportunity it presents to these student athletes."
