CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Amazon Prime Video will make its NASCAR streaming debut with the 2025 Coca-Cola 600, NASCAR announced Tuesday.
NASCAR's longest race has been broadcast by Fox Sports since the network started carrying the Cup Series in 2001. It will move exclusively to streaming in 2025 as part of Prime Video's five-race package. NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently announced he will be part of Prime Video's coverage as the company's lead analyst.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Prime Video as they usher in a new era of sports content,” Marcus Smith, president and CEO of Speedway Motorsports, the parent company of Charlotte Motor Speedway, said in a press release. “Having Dale Jr. in the booth to provide his veteran perspective will open the doors to a new streaming audience while providing race fans with tremendous insight and viewpoints that only he could.”
The Coca-Cola 600 is one of NASCAR's "crown jewel" events, capping off the Memorial Day weekend tripleheader that includes Formula 1 at Monaco and the Indianapolis 500. It's unclear if the race will be broadcast on local TV for fans in the Charlotte area, which has been customary for the NFL's Thursday Night Football for Panthers games.
Prime Video joined TNT Sports, Fox Sports and NBC Sports as part of NASCAR's new media rights deal that runs through 2031. Prime Video and TNT will each broadcast five races during the summer, bridging the gap between Fox and NBC. Prime Video will also have live coverage of all Cup Series practice and qualifying sessions, except forthe Busch Light Clash, Daytona 500 and All-Star Race, which will remain with Fox.
