Catawba County singer says reaching playoffs on 'The Voice' is 'mind blowing'

Christina Eagle sat down with WCNC Charlotte before heading back to Los Angeles for playoffs round.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Rising star Christina Eagle has continued to turn heads and win hearts on NBC's "The Voice" with her powerful performances.

The talented singer from Catawba County first caught the attention of none other than Snoop Dogg, who turned his chair for her during Season 26 of the now-iconic show. Then, in a thrilling moment during the knockout round, Snoop Dogg used his save to keep Eagle on his team.

Other coaches were equally impressed, with the other three vying for the chance to coach the rising country star.

"It was unreal," Eagle said. "Whenever I heard bam, bam bam bam, I stepped back."

Recalling her blind audition, Eagle said it's remarkable to see how far she's come. And she has no plans of switching teams this late in the competition.

"I got one chair turn, it was just Snoop Dogg," she said. "Seeing the progress that I made throughout the show and that they all wanted me, it was such a gift to know that they believe in me and they see something in me. But you know, I had to stick with my man, Snoop Dogg."

The 23-year-old took a brief respite to visit family and friends in Catawba County before heading back to Los Angeles for the playoffs. She expressed excitement about advancing in the competition.

"We made it to the playoffs, baby!" Eagle said. "It's mind-blowing, because this is everything I've ever wanted and it's happening. Especially my family, they're so proud of me and that touches my heart more than anything."

Eagle's experience on "The Voice" has been nothing short of a dream come true.

"Not only just being on that stage, but also the friends I have made there along the way," she explained. "That's been one of my favorite parts because I have prayed to have friends like I have and we have these little worship sessions on Sunday mornings by the pool. It was so heartwarming and I'm just so grateful for it."

As Eagle prepares for the upcoming playoff rounds, she told WCNC Charlotte she would be holding onto the advice given by her coach when he first turned his chair.

"He said, 'I'm not looking for perfection. I'm looking for what you are,'" Eagle shared. "I've always held onto that because that means more to me than he will ever know. Nobody's perfect, and I know I'm not perfect, but I get to do this thing and I want to do it and I know I'm good at it. And the fact that he felt that inside of me, I've got to stay with him until the end.

"He really means a lot to me, which is crazy that I can say that Snoop Dogg means a lot to me!"

Fans can look forward to seeing more of Eagle's storytelling side as she continues to captivate audiences. Catch her in the playoffs round during a special three-night event of "The Voice" on WCNC Charlotte starting Monday night.
