Mom threatened to shoot another parent's vehicle at Charlotte school, affidavit says

The affidavit alleges that Shanique Williamson threatened to shoot another parent's vehicle during an argument at Oakdale Elementary School on Wednesday.

A woman accused of bringing a gun to a Charlotte elementary school this week threatened to shoot another parent's vehicle during an argument, according to an affidavit.

Shanique Williamson, 31, was arrested shortly after a dispute with another parent during drop-off on Wednesday, officials said. Students and staff were sheltered in place until investigators were able to give an all-clear for threats.

According to an affidavit obtained by WCNC Charlotte, Williamson argued with another parent while dropping off her child. At some point, Williamson allegedly pulled out a pistol and threatened to shoot the other parent's car.

About an hour later, Williamson returned to the school, spoke with police and consented to a search of her vehicle. The affidavit alleges that the officers found a .45-caliber Glock 30 handgun. She also admitted to bringing the gun to the school twice. As a result, she was charged with two counts of bringing a gun onto educational property and given a $10,000 bond.

Note: WCNC instituted a policy in March 2021 regarding the broadcast or posting of mugshots.

WCNC will only air or post a mugshot if the person has been formally charged with a crime and in a few other cases. The exceptions include: If it appears the person could be a danger to themselves or others or if they are wanted by authorities; to differentiate between people with a common name; if the photos could encourage more victims to come forward. The news-editorial leadership may also decide to use a mugshot based on the severity of the crime(s) committed and/or the level of public interest in the crime and ensuing criminal proceedings.
