CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating after a man said he was carjacked by four individuals in South Park.
In the latest case, police say a 31-year-old man was carjacked at gunpoint by four suspects.
The incident happened around 10 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Sharon Road and Sharon Lane. It comes just a month after suspects robbed someone at the SouthPark Mall, which is less than a mile away. Before that, a 65-year-old woman was also carjacked in the South Park area.
If Mary had been on her front steps Wednesday night, she might have been quite the witness.
“That’s the corner, I can see it from here,” Mary told WCNC NBC Charlotte.
However, Mary, who did not want to provide her last name, says she didn’t see the brazen crime on Wednesday night.
“I think of the times I even come home later, this is just awful,” said Mary.
In the latest carjacking, no arrests have been made.
“I want to be made safe, I expect to be made safe,” Mary said.
The victim of the carjacking was treated on scene by Medic.
It’s an ongoing investigation.
