It's been a big year for Sainted Trap Choir: The Charlotte act recently competed on NBC's "America's Got Talent: Fantasy League" and made it to the final 10 acts, and joined famed soul singer Andra Day in a performance of "Lift Every Voice and Sing," more commonly known as the Black national anthem, at the start of the Super Bowl.

Local talent like Petrov, an indie rock band also excited to take the stage. The band is scheduled for Sunday.

I always like to say that we have a very banging technical guitar work and then I come in with a really loud yelling vocals,” singer Mary G. McKusick said. “So, if you like a lot of energy, a lot of rock, and a lot of pop, then I think we're definitely the band for you.”

Natalie Carr will rock out with her R&B and pop sounds with a 30- to 45-minute set on Friday.

“It's a huge honor, I'm really excited to just be a part of that and like have that on my resume in my career going forward,” Carr said. “It's cool to go to a music festival. It's a different thing to perform and then get to enjoy it the same day. So that's going to be hugely special for me.”

The festival runs from May 3-5 and has been slowly announcing performing artists since December. Organizers released what was believed to be a lineup full of over 40 artists on Feb. 23, then added more acts on March 15.

The artists will perform on three stages in Uptown's First Ward. Tickets for the event are currently on sale, with a three-day general admission pass starting at $299.

On the Instagram post announcing the schedule, one commenter asked if single-day tickets would be for sale as was previously suggested might happen. The festival replied that organizers are considering releasing some VIP single-day tickets, but that general admission and super VIP tickets "are almost at capacity."

Festival organizers previously said the event is expected to attract 90,000 attendees and has a projected economic impact of more than $30 million for its first year.

The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority said major events like the Lovin’ Life Music Festival are important to creating a lively and dynamic Uptown.

"Large festivals and sporting events complement the broader year-round work that is done to drive leisure tourism to Charlotte; attract meetings, conventions and youth/amateur sporting events; and create a great visitor experience in the Queen City. All of these elements collectively support a healthy and vibrant visitor economy – benefitting Uptown businesses and the greater region.

It's also important to note that Lovin’ Life Music Festival and other major events add to Charlotte’s perception, raise our profile, generate media exposure and economic impact for the region, and enhance the city’s offerings to residents and visitors."

In preparation for the festival, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is offering special passes for that weekend for those who want to take public transportation. Now through April 30, customers can purchase a 3-Day Unlimited Pass for $9.00. From May 1 to May 3, the unlimited pass can be purchased for $13.00. Passes can be purchased through the CATS- Pass App.
